Getting Started
What happens at my first consultation? Your first visit is a consultation with our own Biozen medical team — in person at our Miami or Tampa clinic, or by telehealth from anywhere in Florida. The provider reviews your health history, goals, and current lab work, then determines whether treatment is appropriate for you and which option fits best. Treatment is only prescribed after this evaluation.
Do I qualify for medical weight loss treatment? Eligibility is determined by our own Biozen medical team based on your medical history, current health, and lab results. GLP-1 treatment with semaglutide or tirzepatide is generally considered for adults working toward weight loss who do not have contraindications. The only way to know if you qualify is to complete a consultation and the required lab panel.
Do I need lab work before starting? Yes. A current metabolic panel (within the last 90 days) is required before any prescription is issued. If you choose a Medication-Only plan, you provide your own labs from LabCorp, Quest, or your own physician. If you choose a Monthly or Annual plan, quarterly labs are included.
Can I do everything online, or do I need to visit a clinic? Both options are available and treated equally. Either way, you are cared for by Biozen’s own medical team — not a rotating, anonymous prescriber network. You can complete your consultation, follow-ups, and ongoing care entirely by telehealth across Florida, or visit our Miami or Tampa clinic in person. Monthly and Annual plans include in-person visits if you want them.
Medical Weight Loss (GLP-1)
How much does semaglutide cost at Biozen? Semaglutide (compounded, GLP-1) is offered in three tiers, the same price at both locations:
- Medication Only: $149 initial, then $219/month (you provide your own labs)
- Slim Monthly: $249/month ($199 initial package, labs included) — our most popular plan
- Slim Annual: $209/month, billed annually at $2,508/year (best value, labs included)
How much does tirzepatide cost at Biozen? Tirzepatide (compounded, dual GLP-1/GIP) is offered in three tiers:
- Medication Only: $199 initial, then $319/month (you provide your own labs)
- Transform Monthly: $349/month ($299 initial package, labs included)
- Transform Annual: $299/month, billed annually at $3,588/year (best value, labs included)
What’s the difference between semaglutide and tirzepatide? Both are once-weekly injectable medications used for medical weight loss. Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 pathway. Tirzepatide acts on two pathways (GLP-1 and GIP). The right choice depends on your medical history, goals, and the clinical determination of your Biozen medical team, who will discuss both with you during your consultation.
Isn’t this the same as Ozempic, Wegovy, or Mounjaro? Those are brand-name products. Biozen prescribes compounded medications referenced by their active ingredient — semaglutide and tirzepatide — prepared by a licensed pharmacy and prescribed by our medical team per individual clinical determination. We use active-ingredient names rather than brand names in all patient materials.
How much weight can I expect to lose? Results vary from person to person and depend on your starting point, the medication, dose, and your overall plan. Weight loss with GLP-1 medications is gradual and intended to be sustainable rather than rapid. Your Biozen medical team will set realistic expectations based on your individual situation during your consultation.
What dose do I start on? Semaglutide typically starts at a 0.25mg weekly starter dose, and tirzepatide at a 2.5mg weekly starter dose. Doses are then titrated (adjusted) over time under the supervision of your Biozen medical team. Monthly and Annual plans include dose titration management.
Safety & Side Effects
Is GLP-1 weight loss treatment safe? GLP-1 medications are prescribed and monitored by Biozen’s own medical team after an evaluation and required lab work. Safety depends on your individual health, which is exactly why the medical evaluation and current lab panel are mandatory before any prescription. Your Biozen medical team will review your history for any reasons treatment may not be appropriate for you.
What are the common side effects? The most commonly reported side effects of GLP-1 medications are gastrointestinal — such as nausea, especially when starting or increasing a dose. Starting at a low dose and titrating gradually is designed to reduce these effects. Your Biozen medical team will review what to expect and how to manage side effects, and you’ll have ongoing access to them throughout your treatment.
Is the medication FDA-approved? Biozen prescribes compounded medications, which are prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy for an individual patient based on a provider’s prescription. Compounded medications are regulated differently from mass-manufactured brand-name drugs. Your Biozen medical team can explain how compounded medication works during your consultation.
Who oversees my treatment? All treatment is prescribed and supervised by Biozen’s own medical team — the same team that cares for you throughout, not a rotating prescriber network. Monthly and Annual plans include ongoing telehealth check-ins, provider messaging access, and protocol and dose adjustments so your treatment is monitored over time, not just at the start.
Cost & Payment
What’s included in each pricing tier?
- Medication Only — consultation, review by your Biozen medical team, and your prescribed medication. You supply your own labs. No long-term commitment.
- Monthly — everything in Medication Only, plus quarterly labs, unlimited telehealth check-ins, dose titration management, direct messaging with your Biozen medical team, and supplies. Cancel anytime.
- Annual — everything in Monthly, plus additional in-person visits per year, priority scheduling, and the initial consult fee waived. Best overall value, prepaid annually.
Are labs included in the price? It depends on the tier. Medication-Only plans do not include labs — you provide your own from LabCorp, Quest, or your physician. Monthly and Annual plans include quarterly labs.
Do you take insurance? Biozen operates on transparent, self-pay pricing so you always know your cost up front, with no surprise billing. This also keeps your treatment private and removes insurance-related delays. If you’d like to seek insurance reimbursement independently, we can typically provide documentation on request.
Is the pricing the same in Miami and Tampa? Yes. Pricing is identical at both our Miami and Tampa clinics.
Can I cancel? Monthly plans can be cancelled anytime. Annual plans are prepaid for the year at the lowest per-month rate. Our team can walk you through the details before you enroll.
